About the Chinese Fan Palm...
The Chinese Fan Palm has huge light green leaves that are becoming popular in landscapes as a unique ground cover plant and as a single trunk specimen tree. These trees are also very attractive for growing in pots and planters. Chinese Fan Palms are very cold tolerant, surviving from 10°F to 5°F. The Chinese Fan Palm slowly grows to a height of 15 to 35 feet with large leaves that droop downward to give a very graceful appearance. This beautiful palm originates from Japan and is quite easy to grow. It will tolerate full sun or partial shade and is often used for its foliage as an under story plant growing under other palms, such as the Windmill Palm.
